Prep Wise - No. 200 One-Step Clean & Etch Solution
Cleaning your pool or deck for coating or re-coating is mandatory before the application of any new coating product. Smart Seal
PREP WISE will clean, etch and prepare your pool or deck surface for your new and beautiful Smart Seal surface. Simply mix
PREP WISE with water to clean, then rinse. Smart Seal PREP WISE can also be used to clean your pool filter, extending life and
making them practically brand new.
POOL SURFACE TYPES
This product can be used on bare concrete, gunite, marcite, bare fiberglass, plaster, and painted surfaces. Following are dilution rates for
various surfaces.
For Bare Concrete, Marcite, Gunite, and Plaster: Mix 1 gallon of PREP WISE with 2 gallons of water. Always use a water-filled plastic
container before pouring in the PREP WISE. This will clean and etch approximately 400 square feet.
Do not over dilute.
For Bare Fiberglass and Painted Surfaces: Mix 1 gallon of PREP WISE with 4 gallons of water. Always use a water-filled plastic
container before pouring in the PREP WISE. This will clean and etch approximately 700 square feet.
DIRECTIONS
- Wet surface with water.
- Use a garden sprayer or similar equipment to apply solution.
- Scrub surface thoroughly until foam stops.
- Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely, unless using a water-based product.

Clean all equipment with water immediately after use.

For Pool Filters: Mix 1 gallon of PREP WISE to 5 gallons of water. Always use a water-filled plastic container before pouring in the
PREP WISE. Soak for 1 hour. Rinse thoroughly and repeat as necessary to completely clean scum and mineral deposits.
CAUTION Contains phosphoric acid. Use only in areas that has adequate ventilation. If you experience headaches or dizziness,
increase fresh air or wear respiratory protection (NIOSH, MSHA TC23C or equivalent) or leave area. DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY.
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting - seek medical attention immediately.
ALWAYS wear rubber gloves, safety goggles and protective footwear.

If you scrape or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC, EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS
ILLNESS SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN; PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a
NIOSH approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find
